Notation 1: Thomas Nesbit's parents are unknown. The story, that I've come across while doing research on him, is that Thomas Nesbit was orphaned at a very young age and taken in/helped raised by more than one neighbor. Also, per the story, it is uncertain on if Nesbit was his birth surname or if it was a surname passed along to him by one of the families that took him in/helped raise him. Another source shares parents, and siblings, for Thomas Nesbit. However this source also has info about a Thomas Nesbit who lived in Monroe County, Indiana, United States [and who married someone else and died at a different date] included.
